Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade has just submitted to the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for approval the project to develop the logistics industry in Ho Chi Minh City until 2025, with a vision to 2030.

This project is one of 45 projects under the breakthrough and key program of the Resolution of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress (term 2020 – 2025).

IDENTIFICATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE RESTRICTIONS

According to the content of the project, the research results of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA) show that in 2017 the ratio of logistics costs to national GDP was 18%. In Ho Chi Minh City, the growth rate of logistics service revenue of enterprises in 2018 reached 12%, in 2019 reached 14.7%; That proportion contributing to the GRDP in 2018 is estimated at 8.3% and in 2019 approximately 8.7%.

Ho Chi Minh City has more than 1,500 warehouses but most of them are developed spontaneously, with uneven scale, ineffective exploitation and unprofessional operation.
