(VLR) Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA) was born with the mission of improving professionalism, developing modern logistics services, connecting regional and global logistics, developing businesses in the industry as well as economic development in Vietnam.
On the occasion of the 27th anniversary of establishment and development (November 18, 1993 – November 18, 2020), and reviewing important milestones, that is also the motivation for VLA to continue to persevere with the mission. development.
Milestones
In 1993 to meet the needs of expanding, promoting import and export activities abroad in the early years when Vietnam’s economy was opened, in Decision No. 5874 / KTTV of November 18, 1993 of the Government, Hiep Vietnam Logistics and Logistics Association (VIFFAS) was officially established with only 7 members, setting the first milestone in the history of the development of Vietnam’s logistics service industry.
In 1994, the VIFFAS Association became an official member of the International Logistic Association (FIATA) and later a member of the Southeast Asian Forwarding Association (AFFA), creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese private enterprises operating in the field of forwarding, logistics, expanding cooperation, seeking customers, partners in the region and internationally.
In 2000, through many years of operation, VIFFAS Association increasingly received the trust of its members, becoming an important organization in connecting domestic and international businesses. VIFFAS’s reputation has been confirmed even more by hosting the 10th AFFA conference in November 2000, in Hanoi.
In 2013, the Executive Board of VIFFAS Association boldly proposed to change its name to the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), and was approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs in Decision No. 07 / QD-BNV dated January 4. /two thousand and thirteen.
After becoming the National Logistics Association, VLA has further strengthened cooperation and connection with regional and international logistics organizations such as FIATA, AFFA. In terms of training, in this period, VLA had the Vietnam Logistics Research and Development Institute in charge of training and providing human resources for the industry’s activities. Up to now, VLA has become a prestigious organization with nearly 500 members
Connect and integration
In order to create opportunities for members to exchange and connect with each other, over the past time, VLA has organized many meaningful activities. These activities create spillovers and connections between each individual in each business; between each enterprise in the Association; between members and the Association … That is the basis of solidarity
VLA regularly organizes specialized seminars to dissect the reasons behind the development of the industry; analyze the development potentials and opportunities of the domestic and international logistics industry; at the same time discussing to find solutions to help member businesses operate more effectively. In 2020, before the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, VLA has promptly adjusted and applied online software to connect, organize and attend domestic and international seminars, thus ensuring the requirements. connection and development of the industry.
In addition, with the function of social criticism and protection of members’ interests, in recent years, the Association has created a close relationship with state management agencies such as the Ministry of Transport, and Industry and Trade, Ministry of Planning and Investment. , Ministry of Finance (General Department of Customs, General Department of Taxation).
After 27 years of establishment and development, VLA has achieved many achievements in expanding cooperation with domestic and foreign organizations. Domestically, the Association has signed cooperation with many domestic industry associations such as the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, the Vietnam Electronics Association, the Vietnam Port Association, and the Vietnam Private Economic Forum. Having good relationship with relevant regulatory agencies such as: Vietnam Maritime Administration, Department of Transport, Ministry of Transport, Department of Customs Management and Supervision and Transport Universities , University of Transport Technology, Vietnam National University, Vietnam Aviation Academy, Foreign Trade University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Academy of Finance and General Department of Vocational Education .. .
VLA has signed international cooperation agreements with foreign organizations such as: cooperation framework agreement between VLA and Pyeoengtaek border port, Korea (2015); Agreement on the Cooperation Framework Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangdong and the South Asian International Corridor with the Qin Nam Provincial Government – Guangdong Logistics Association – Hong Kong Logistics Association, ASEAN Transport Federation and VLA, (2017 ); Cooperation agreement between the Hong Kong Logistics Association and VLA (2017) to promote modern logistics services, such as e-commerce, last-mile delivery and full-package services between Hong Kong and China. and Vietnam; Agreement between VLA and Chongqing Chamber of Commerce under China International Chamber of Commerce and Cooperation Agreement between VLA and Guangxi Logistics Association (2018); Cooperation Agreement with Singapore Logistics Association to support service providers of the two associations to contribute to the economic development between the two countries and with ASEAN countries (2017) …
