In the new government decree, Long An international port is not in the list of seaports where live animals can be imported. Port investment companies and beef importers are facing the risk of great damage.

  • According to Decree No. 13/2020 dated January 21, 2020 of the Government detailing the Law on Livestock Production, Long An international port is not on the list of seaports permitted to import live animals.
  • According to Article 29 of Decree 13/2020, unless otherwise specified by the agreement between Vietnam and abroad, only 7 ports are allowed to import live animals including Cai Lan (Quang Ninh), Hai Phong, Cua Lo ( Nghe An), Da Nang, Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Cat Lai (HCMC), Cai Mep (Ba Ria – Vung Tau).

  • Not to mention all factors from seaport security, environment, strategic location to the infrastructure of Long An international port have been built appropriately to meet the demand for receiving and importing animals. living.
  • The People’s Committee of Long An province has asked the Ministry to consider and propose to the Government to add and re-add this port to the list of border gates receiving live animals into Vietnam.

Long An international port covers an area of ​​147 ha, located in Tan Tap commune, Can Giuoc district, Long An.

  • This project is part of a total project of nearly 2,000 hectares, including Long An international port cluster, Long An Southeast Asia Industrial Park, Logistics Service Center, Long An International Port Urban Area.
  • Located 38km from Ho Chi Minh City along Highway 50, this is the port to reduce the load for the port cluster in Ho Chi Minh City and contribute to reducing traffic congestion from Ho Chi Minh City to the southwestern provinces.
